One of our cohort members, Jessica Sadler (Oregon Trail Middle School, Olathe - Science) details out how her student won the Cool Science competition in Kansas City this spring:
"The Extreme Weather and Art competition that my student participated in was hosted at coolscience.net, in partnership with UMASS Boston, UMASS Lowell, The University of Kansas, The KC Art Institute, and The Massachusetts College of Art and Design.
Her science research topics were how animals use adaptations to keep cool. Her piece shows how dogs sweat through their pants to bring their body heat down and how bees take water droplets into their hive then use their wings as fans to make "air conditioning" to cool their hive. Her work will be depicted on KC transit busses throughout the metro area."
